Hello! We appreciate your concern for the safety of others when applying a tourniquet. Unfortunately, some of the information you have given is actually inaccurate. In an article written by Rod Brouhard, EMT-P, the content states, "While you do not need any official or special medical certification or training, you do need to understand how to properly use one". This means that no training is actually required, but it is important to know the basics of how to stop a bleed, which is the purpose of this Public Service Announcement. Furthermore, Good Samaritan Law protects volunteers trying to help others in emergency situations. Once again, thank you for your concern, and please strive to educate yourself more before attacking others online.

@@nikashekastehband5211 What I meant by "training" was having knowledge one how to *properly* use one. And in that, a random person does NOT know how to use one. "Did you know a tourniquet should be at least 4cm wide to prevent localized damage to nerve tissues? Probably not." I apologise for the poor choice of words.

And according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), "OWSA also say"that the use of a tourniquet by untrained rescuers can easily result in more harm than good." The video just loosely says "Apply a tourniquet if possible," (something like that). A too loosely tourniquet could cause bleeding to worsen, as the return or venous blood is blocked but arterial blood continues to pass by the tourniquet. Placing it too far away from the wound, or on the wrong type of wound, fabricating a tourniquet from an inappropriate material. Parachute cord can cut into the skin, blood pressure cuffs can loosen. Tourniquets should be 1” to 2” wide. The wider the tourniquet, the more pressure will be required. There are just too things that could go wrong with untrained persons using tourniquets.

New Nickname Please keep in mind that the allotted time for this PSA was 30 seconds. While it would certainly be helpful, listing out all of the steps to creating a tourniquet would be too tedious for viewers and not necessarily invoke a call to action. Along with that, it may not even be able to fit in the 30 seconds while still being effective. Our strategy for the PSA was to allow our viewers to become interested in the subject and get a brief overview of what to do. We then gave a link that would help those interested to get training for stopping a bleed, which includes creating a tourniquet. Your tenacity to correct our video is appreciatively noted, and we hope you can apply these efforts to more productive situations, as well. Thank you for the review.

I apologise for the "attacking" tone. But the tourniquet part should of been left out. People could go off from watching this video to apply improper tourniquets, causing much more damage,
